Our Driving Concern Awards Presented to Nine Texas Employers
Thanks to the efforts of the nine organizations honored by the National Safety Council through the annual Our Driving Concern Texas Employer Traffic Safety Awards, roadway safety is improving across Texas.
All nine have implemented road safety policies and procedures and are committed to providing employee education and training. They are striving to keep their employees and residents in the communities where they live and work safe. They’ve set the gold standard.
“These organizations aren’t just following best practices, they’re leading the way on the Road to Zero – zero crashes, zero injuries, zero fatalities,” said Mark Chung, executive vice president of safety leadership and advocacy at the National Safety Council. “I say, we can’t get there soon enough.”
In Texas, one reportable crash occurs every 57 seconds, and one person is injured in a crash every 2 minutes 5 seconds, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. Clearly, there is more work to be done, and these nine safety-minded organizations will help lead the way.
