Wednesday, April 16 (10-10:30 a.m. CT): So You Think You Can Drive Distracted? Register to attend now.
Every day, millions of drivers face distractions that can take their attention away from the road. Whether it’s sending a text message, talking on a cell phone, using a navigation system, or eating while driving, these distractions and others pose serious risks to everyone’s safety.
In this session, National Safety Council Program Manager April Ramos will discuss the types of distractions that drivers encounter and the impact they have on driver safety. In addition, April will show you how to reinforce positive driving behaviors and provide practical solutions to combat distractions.
Tuesday, May 13 (1-1:45 p.m. CT): When Aggressive Driving Becomes Road Rage – Practical Tips for Employers. Register to attend now.
Aggressive driving can take many forms, tailgating, honking and speeding, just to name a few. No one wants to become a statistic in an aggressive driving incident. Drivers should know how to quickly recognize aggressive driving and how to avoid crashes caused by another driver’s recklessness behind the wheel.
In this session, National Safety Council Program Manager April Ramos is joined by Texas Department of Public Safety Lieutenant Craig Cummings to provide insights on the telltale signs of aggressive driving and how aggressive driving can escalate into road rage. Practical advice on what drivers can do to protect themselves and reduce the likelihood of being involved in crashes caused by other people’s reckless driving will be discussed.

Free Employer Training
Given the enormous expense associated with crashes and injuries, it is necessary to train your employees to drive safely and develop a company-wide traffic safety program.
About half of all crash-related injuries result in days away from work, which can greatly impact employer costs, including:
- Health, life and disability insurance premiums
- Sick leave
- Contributions to workers’ compensation medical and disability insurance
- Liability insurance
- Crash-related legal expenses
- Lost productivity
- Recruiting and training to replace an injured employee
Our Driving Concern offers a free training program to teach your employees the basics of traffic safety and help prevent costly crashes. Our Driving Concern Transportation Safety Training teaches skills in conjunction with a traffic safety curriculum to address driver behaviors that are costly to Texas employers. This training is great for HR professionals, safety professionals, supervisors, instructors and other staff.
