Build Safer Driving Habits with Habit Builder

The intent of the program is to help you help your employees build safer driving habits. During a six-month pilot that runs through August 2025, your employees will use an app to track their driving habits, monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.

Participants will receive six months of daily emails or text messages (excluding weekends and holidays). These communications will feature engaging questions focused on six core traffic safety competencies: impairment, distraction, speed management, occupant protection, vulnerable road users and general traffic safety.

By suggesting tasks and providing educational content, Habit Builder encourages long-term behavior change to promote safer driving. Here’s how you can get everyone at your location started with this daily challenge:

PLEASE NOTE: The pilot program begins Feb. 3 and is open at this time only to Texas employers and their employees. Participation in this trial is required for a full six months and will be tracked. If your employees are unable to commit to six months of daily text messages or emails, we encourage you to explore our other free resources, such as our online learning management system or printable materials, to help them build safer driving habits.
