Sample Driving Policy
As an employer, you are wondering what elements should be included in a safe driving policy for employees. We have created a Sample Driving Policy you can copy and use on your own company letterhead.
The document addresses concern over aggressive driving, distracted driving, impaired driving and seat belt use. At the end, there is a place for employee acknowledgement of company policy, signature required.
Check To Protect
More than 50 million vehicles in the U.S. have unrepaired, open recalls. That is rougly one in five vehicles on the road and includes tens of millions of unrepaired, recalled Takata airbags. In a crash, recalled airbags can rupture and spray shrapnel into the vehicle, transforming lifesaving-safety equipment into life-threatening devices. Check To Protect is a national champaign led by the National Safety Council that encourages drivers and employers to check the recall status of their vehicles and have open recalls fixed immediately.

Car Seat Basics
Car Seat Basics is a free introductory child passenger safety training, available in English and Spanish. The online course, developed by the National Safety Council, takes about 60 minutes to complete.
The goal of the training, which focuses on passenger vehicles, is to help participants feel more confident about car seat, booster seat and seat belt use by developing awareness for evidence-based guidelines of correct use.

On average, 37 children die each year in the U.S. from being left alone in hot cars. To help prevent these tragedies, the National Safety Council has developed FREE online training and a variety of FREE, practical assets designed to raise awareness of safety risks and empower you to take action.
